Central to the religious life of the school is the person of Jesus Christ who came among us ‘as one who serves’ (Luke 22.27). Our Catholic school is committed to reaching out to help those in need, through charitable outreach initiatives. All outreach activities connect to the person of Jesus Christ and to the sacraments, especially the Eucharist. Drawing on the Catholic Social Teaching of the Church, we have a deep commitment to supporting a range of charitable organisations, families and individuals in need.

At Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School Miranda, our school and parish work in partnership to reach out to those who are marginalised within our local community and beyond following the mission of Jesus Christ.

The school community supports the charitable works of the Church through fundraising for Project Compassion, Vinnies Winter and Christmas appeals, Daffodil Day, Harmony Day, Pope Francis Award, and local Aged Care facilities. Together with our Family Educator, the school engages the parent community to support these outreach programs to be responsive to those in need today.
